Memphis Bioworks Business Association History

The Memphis Bioworks Business Association is an initiative of the Memphis Bioworks Foundation, an organization focused on leading the transformation of Memphis into an international center of excellence for bioscience business, education, discovery and entrepreneurism.

Our vision is that  MBBA members will be more knowledgeable, empowered and successful because of their interaction with professionals and resources that support the bioscience industry in the Memphis region.

The Association promotes and expands bioscience networking, education, advocacy and professional development throughout the Memphis region.

The MBBA focuses on three primary areas:

•    Professional development and networking
•    Educational forums to address bioscience business issues
•    Advocacy at the local, state, and federal level.

The biosciences are among the fastest growing business and professional categories in the Memphis region. The growth of the biosciences will depend on our community’s ability to create the infrastructure to support development, expand the workforce and promote an entrepreneurial spirit that will drive new technologies and businesses in the region.

The Memphis Bioworks Business Association is focused on bringing the bioscience business community together through communications, events, programs and professional networking to advance the industry and provide greater knowledge of the activities that are taking place in the region. Providing education, advocacy and opportunities for business and professional development are vital to retaining and recruiting new talent to the area, and to keeping the talent we already have. Through membership in the organization, companies will become more closely aligned and aware of the bioscience movement in Memphis.
